A packed Hobart High poolside saw 7 White Dolphin's records smashed during an exciting afternoon's display of first-rate swimming. Chairman and Coach Mark Stone praised the commitment of the youngsters and dedication to pursue throughout the year, both goals and personal challenges.
10-Year-Olds
Abbie Humphries' hard work paid off when she knocked 7 seconds off the girls' front crawl record. The unlucky Georgina Matthews was a finger tip touch behind to secure second place, Estella Smith took third and Grace Hunt fourth. Abbie went on to take firsts in both individual medley and backstroke. Grace gained second place in individual medley. Georgina Matthews took backstroke second with Molly Cushing third. Breaststroke went to Abbie Silk, second was Estella Smith, Beth Allen third and Eleanor Storey fourth. Eleanor secured butterfly first. Boys' front crawl went to James O'Donnell with Marcus Battisson and Thomas Summerfield battling for second and third places and Mitchell Boothby fourth. Mitchell pulled away to take backstroke first with Louis Albrow second and Thomas Summerfield third. Good gala performance from Tom Wilkins & Jake Caston
11-Year-Olds
Alex Steward and Luke Page fought stroke-by-stoke in boys' front crawl to see Alex pip Luke by 0.11 sec. Fraser McKnespiey took third and George Browne fourth. Alex went on to win breaststroke with a close second going to Stuart Clarke. Fraser McKnespiey took butterfly and individual medley went to Stuart Clarke. Luke Gillespie won backstroke. Tara Jenkins secured firsts in girls' breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley. Fenella Jenkins took backstroke and front crawl.
12-Year-Olds
Rachael Folkard and Siouxsie Littlewood swam a close girls' front crawl for respective first and second places. Rachael took breaststroke and Siouxsie gained backstroke first.
13-Year-Olds
Strong swimming by Tamara Spooner saw two records smashed in backstroke, individual medley and a first taken in front crawl. Ryan Jenkins won both backstroke and butterfly. Cameron McKnespiey secured front crawl with Ryan taking a hard fought second.
14-Year-Olds
Finlay Lawson took an early lead to secure boys' front crawl with Charlie Folkard second. Charlie later won individual medley. Jamie Verhulst gained first in backstroke and breaststroke. Girls' backstroke went to Josephine O'Donnell. Firsts were taken by Rachel Organ in front crawl and breaststroke.
15-Year-Olds
A superb afternoon's swimming by Charlie Lees saw 4 records smashed. Charlie took almost 15 seconds off the club boys' backstroke record and broke individual medley, front crawl and relay records. A hard fought second in front crawl went to Connor Rodwell. Girls' individual medley and front crawl were secured by Julia Brackenbury; backstroke was won by Amy Scott.
Open
Naomi Church won backstroke and front crawl with Katrina Clarke taking second in backstroke. Katrina secured firsts in breaststroke and individual medley.
Relay
Atmospheric crowd support saw Stingrays captained by Libby Day take an early lead. Tamara Spooner's Crocodiles fought back hard for second place with Naomi Church's team Swordfish only a finger-tip touch behind for third.
