SWIMMING CLUB 30TH BIRTHDAY TRIATHLON in aid of Matthew Green Memorial
Fund |
| held on Sunday 17th July2005 at Hobart
High School Loddon |
A first for Loddon White Dolphin Swimming Club and
the majority of 83 competitors - aged from 6 yrs. to the 50+yrs. - who
took part in the club's 30th birthday celebration triathlon on Sunday 17
July.
The triathlon and donations raised £500 for the
Matthew Green Memorial fund supporting the Royal Marsden Hospital; Matthew
Green was a keen sportsman and swimming club member who sadly died aged 19
following cancer last year.
Swimming, cycling and running was the order on the
hottest Sunday of the year with all competitors from the club and
Matthew's sporting friends finishing the course
Matthew's parents Sara & John Green opened the
competition and Sara maintained the family's sporting tradition by
completing the course in a fine time.
Pam Stone - Chair of LWDSC and Sara Green concluded
the triathlon by cutting an enormous birthday cake which was shared by the
competitors.
